WHICH BRAND TO BUY? DECISIONS DECISIONS…

I don’t know about you, but I sometimes find myself not knowing what brands of spirits to try out especially when it comes to exploring something new and different. There’s so many types of spirits and brands out there. Where does one begin to search? I recently found out about the San Francisco World’s Spirit Competition. Spirits from all over the world compete in this prestigious international competition for bragging rights. Spirits from Mexico, Caribbean, Scotland, Ireland, Japan, Netherlands, Poland…. I literally mean spirits from everywhere. The 2011 competition was held in April and results are posted in a PDF file. The list may seem overwhelming at first. But rest assured, the list is easy and intuitive to scroll through. There are three PDF files. One file has the awards listed by brands. A second PDF file has the awards listed by class of spirits such as gin, vodka, scotch whiskey, etc… The third file has the awards listed by medals (ie, double gold medal, gold medal, silver medal, bronze medal). These three files makes searching easy. Want to try a new vodka then open the file with the awards by class and look for the vodka section. Want to see who won in general then open the PDF file with winners by medals. The three files coupled with the PDF “find search box” will make searching EASY. It’s that simple and intuitive.
