BEES HIVE:
For those who never made it to my first creation/recipe for drinkwithlong, here it is again. Inspired by the delicious classic Sidecar Cocktail (Cognac VSOP, Cointreau, and Lemon Juice). I omitted the sugar. Substituted Cognac VSOP for Straight Bourbon and added a little extra ingredient, truffles. Truffles are known to pair well with chocolate desserts. So why not add truffle to a Bourbon with notes of toffee, dark cocoa, honey, and hints of vanilla? The recipe below is a good base to start off with before tweaking for personal preference.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz Wild Turkey Rare Breed
0.75 oz Cointreau
0.75 oz Lemon Juice
3-4 Dashes of Truffle Honey Syrup
Side Note: Truffle Honey Syrup was made using a 1:1 ratio of Truffle Honey to boiling water over medium heat.
Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a mixing glass. Add ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds. Strain into a small chilled Brandy/Cordial glass.
Sour drinks should be alive and effervescent. So shake to wake up the cocktail. No lame shakes. For that short moment the drink is created, all eyes are on you. You are the show. So shake to impress!
